The founder and executive director for T.R.A.C., who is also a national spoken word poet and member of the award winning poetry slam team Foreign Tongues. Chris James is a teaching artist listed on the Arkansas Art Council's roster and an Arkansas A+ fello. He serves as an advocate for education art and social justice and for hope of building stronger communities.
January 2013 - The Roots Art Connection was rebranded
April 2013 - The Roots Theatre Project launched it's first stage play "The Odds Against Us".
October 2013 - The Roots Art Connection launched it's second program Poetry Saves Lives
December 2013 - Poetry Saves Lives introduced it's program to Our House by facilitating workshops
May 2014 - The Roots Art Connection received its 501(c3) status
August 2014- Poetry in the Park (Downtown Little Rock)
November 2014- The House of Art was opened
March 2015- Grand Opening for the new location of The House of Art
October 2015- The Mural Project (1st Mural)
February 2016- Buy Back the Block- Purchased 1st Home

Our programs and projects are designed to support social justice, alleviate poverty and hunger, uproot oppression and engage youth in creative arts while simultaneously increasing academic success.
